Violet Rebecca Jones

Miss Violet Rebecca Jones, age 69, of Union, passed away September 11, 2024 at her home.

Miss Jones was born in Shelby, NC, February 7, 1955, a daughter of the late Joseph Winfred Jones and Violet Estelle Bowen Jones. She was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and received her Master's in Education from Winthrop University. Miss Jones was a retired English teacher having taught high school and college level classes at Union County High School, Clemson University, Spartanburg Community College and various other schools in South Carolina and North Carolina. Along with being a devoted educator, she was also a very talented artist.

Surviving are a brother, Joseph Bryson Jones and wife Deanne of Mooresboro, NC and two nieces, Lynn Eason of Fallston, NC and Laura Willoughby of Stanley, NC. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
