Virginia "Butchie" Allen

Mrs. Virginia Murrell Dabbs "Butchie" Allen, age 85, widow of Buddy Allen, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Allen was born in Union, November 17, 1937, a daughter of the late James H. Dabbs and Margaret Greer Dabbs. She was a member of the first class to graduate from the new Lockhart High School. Mrs. Allen was a retired LPN having worked at Hope Hospital for over 30 years and was a lifelong member of Lockhart First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Kellie Allen of the home; two sons, Mike Allen and wife Sylvia of Lockhart and Monty Allen and wife Stacy of Nashville, TN; and three sisters, Shirley McLeod of Lockhart, Linda Williams and husband Jimmy and Ann Trakas all of Union. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lucas Allen (Phelicia), Catie Smith (Clayton), Mackenzie Trail (Dylan) and Grayson Lackey (Chris) and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Cooper Wells, Easton and Ford Smith, and Oaklynn and Ledger Trail.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Drew Rogers and Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jantzen Childers, Arnold Childers, Clayton Smith, Brent Greer, Tracy Rash, Freddie Gault, Jason Childers, Montie Bradburn and Miles Gibson. The following are requested with a Special Thanks to sit as Honorary pallbearers: Celeste West, Teresa Smith, Deborah Bradburn, Tracy Smith, Tina Rash and Shirley Cromer.

Memorials may be made to Lockhart First Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 190, Lockhart, SC 29364.

The family will be at the home 302 South Sixth Street, Lockhart, SC.
