March 18, 2016 Mrs. Virginia Billings Harmon, age 90, widow of Augustus Hugh Harmon, Jr., passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Harmon was born in Spartanburg Co., May 19, 1925, a daughter of the late Howard and Martha Johnson Billings. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil's Business College. Mrs. Harmon retired as Office Manager at the doctor's office of Drs. Hope, Hames and Keith. She was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she had served on the church board and was a member of the Pat Flood Circle of the church. Surviving are a daughter, Donna H. Frye and husband, Douglas of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Judy B. Cathcart of Buffalo, Leoma B. White and Ila B. Lawson both of Spartanburg, and Lucille B. Cooper of Barnwell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harmon was predeceased by a brother, Carrol Billings. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Ron Towery. Burial will be at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jonesville. Active pallbearers will be Mark Cathcart, Chris Vaughn, Clifton James, Clayton James, Brad Hendrix and Russ Sanders. Members of the Pat Flood Circle are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday in the church parlor, prior to the services. The family will be at the home of her sister, Judy B. Cathcart, 140 Buffalo Creek Ranch Rd. Buffalo.
