Virginia J. Willard

Mrs. Virginia Jones "Jenny" Willard, age 70, wife of Kenneth Wayne Willard of 119 Teal Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Willard was born in Chesterfield Co., SC, January 6, 1948, a daughter of the late Rev. Henry Jones and Ruby Brock Jones. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from the Dept. of Juvenile Justice. Mrs. Willard was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Ken Willard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two daughters, Karen Bridges and husband Josh of Easley and Kelly Wood and husband Lynn of Union; two brothers, Mike Jones of New Mexico and John Jones of Spartanburg; and four grandchildren, Delaney and Sulley Wood and Brock and Bryce Bridges. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Vaughn, Rev. Ralph Brown and Rev. Jim Palmer. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Joe Willard, Jr., Scott Willard, Steve Willard, Tim Mitchell, Mark Murphy, Joel Willard, Mike Nance and Kyle Nance. Past and present employees of the Dept of Juvenile Justice, members of the Rachel McManess Sunday School class along with Dudley and Hazel Adams, Pat Brockman, Ducky Lawson, Joe and Susan Lawson, Gene and Barbara Gregory, Dot Nichols, Gene Gregory, Ronnie and Patsy McNeace, Billy and Elaine Lawson, Curtis and Kathy Plexico, Roger and Cathy Gregory, Ken Henderson, Curtis and Denise Eubanks and Steve and Brook Brewington are all asked to sit in a group. The family wishes to express a special "Thank You" to the staff and nurses of Medi Home Hospice and all the special friends and family who have help with the care of Mrs. Willard during her illness. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 119 Teal Rd., Union.
