Vivian Hyder Jolly

Mrs. Vivian Hyder Jolly, age 83 of 1526 Whitmire Hwy, Union, widow of Paul Edgar Jolly, Sr., passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Jolly was born in Union, SC September 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Wilkes Edward Hyder, Sr and Lillian Greene Hyder. She was a graduate of Union High School. Mrs. Jolly was a homemaker and was previously employed with Her Majesty. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters: Janet Jolly Brown and husband Dean of Newberry and Jerri Jolly Thompson and husband Keith of Boiling Springs; a son, Paul Edgar "Eddie" Jolly, Jr and wife Jill of Cherokee Springs; five grandchildren: Andrea Davis and husband Corey of Union, Lori Elder and husband Jeff of Newberry, Blake Thompson of Boiling Springs, Sally Margaret Jolly and Collin Jolly both of Cherokee Springs; four great-grandchildren: Chase Cole Davis, Bailey Davis, Abigail Elder and Macy Elder; two sisters: Cornelia Owings of Union and Lorena Gregory of Spartanburg; a brother, Curtis Maurice Hyder of Union; a number of nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Paula Faulkner of Union. Mrs. Jolly was predeceased by three sisters, six brothers and a great-grandson, Hayden Ray Elder. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Ron Culbertson. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Corey Davis, Jeff Elder, Blake Thompson, Chase Cole Davis, Jeff Hyder and Ralph Owings. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
