W. Carlisle White, Jr.

Mr. Wilson Carlisle White, Jr. age 90, husband of Trudy Henry White of Presbyterian Home, 801 Musgrove Street, Unit 119, Clinton, SC, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2014 at Hospice of Laurens County. Mr. White was born September 14, 1923, a son of the late Wilson Carlisle White and Julia Phillips White. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church Union and a graduate of Clemson University. A Veteran of the US Army, he served in World War II as a Combat Infantryman in the European Theater and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was retired from the US Department of Agriculture where he was a District Conservationist. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Betsy Burton and two sons, Bill White and Thom White. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
