Mr. Wallace M. “Putt” Thomason, Jr., age 74, of Union, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026.

Mr. Thomason was born in Chester, September 15, 1952, a son of the late Wallace McKinley Thomason, Sr. and Lib Hutto Thomason. He retired from United Contractors as a heavy machine operator. Mr. Thomason loved doing mechanic work, especially working on tractors.

Mr. Thomason is survived by a daughter, Katie Adams and her husband, Jonathan of Union; a granddaughter, Anna Kate Adams; three brothers, Roger Thomason of Lockhart, Charles Thomason and his wife, Marshall of Chester and Roy Thomason and his wife, Linda of GA; a very special friend, Johnny Gibson; a companion, Beverly Diane Melton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomason was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Ann Thomason and Brenda Thomason and two brothers, Russell Thomason and Ronnie Thomason.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Lockhart Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Sam Baine and Pastor Todd Palmer. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Katie Adams, 1432 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union, SC.
