Walter O'Neil Mckeown

Mr. Walter O'Neil McKeown, age 82, husband of Mary Smith McKeown, of 124 Pineland Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home.

Mr. McKeown was born May 7, 1938 in Union, a son of the late John Henry Gault and Mary Lee McKeown Gault.  He was a graduate of Union High School.  Mr. McKeown retired after 42 years from Frito-Lay where he worked in sales, after his retirement he worked in delivery at Napa Auto Parts.  He retired after 34 years of service as a Staff Sargent from the South Carolina National Guard Head Quarter Unit Union.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Elizabeth Kingsmore and husband Victor of Rock Hill; a son, Walter O'Niel McKeown, Jr. and wife Wendy of Union; a son-in-law, Jay Siltzer of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Marah Kingsmore, Cayden Kingsmore, Kole McKeown and wife Jordan, and Sydney McKeown; and a host of special friends that he made throughout his long life and career.  He was predeceased by a daughter Kelly M. Siltzer and a grandson, Malachi Siltzer.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Brian Redding.
