Walter Jerry Wilburn

Mr. Walter Jerry Wilburn, age 75, of 1300 S. Pinckney St., Union, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Heartland of Union.

Mr. Wilburn was born in Union, November 30, 1944, a son of the late Clarence Lamar Wilburn and Grace Brannon Wilburn. He was formerly employed with Milliken and Co. and later with Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant.

He is survived by a daughter, Joy Wilburn Stepp and husband Terry of Canton, NC; a son, Walter Jerry Wilburn, Jr. and friend Mica of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Clemmie Gentry and husband David and Reba House and husband Ray all of Union; a brother, William Victor "Bill" Wilburn of Union; four grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Christopher Wilburn, Cheyenne Mathis and Walter Lee Stroupe; a great-granddaughter, Kaisley Mathis and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wilburn was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Elaina Grace Mathis and two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Wilburn and Broadus Lamar Wilburn.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Martha Toney.
