Wanda Mcglothan Mcdermott

November 18, 2015 Mrs. Wanda McGlothan McDermott, age 59, wife of Lawrence G. McDermott of 1300 S Pinckney Street, Apt. 103, Union, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her home. Mrs. McDermott was born in Union, SC November 30, 1955, a daughter of the late Arthur Jack McGlothan and Ethel Southerland McGlothan. She was a homemaker and a member of Jonesville Church of God. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Tammy S. Odom of Union; three sisters: Mary Taft of Union, Joyce Dawkins of Jonesville and Nancy Phillips and husband Sam of Union; four grandchildren: Dylan Sowers, Jessica Sowers, Michael Steele and Grace Odom. Mrs. McDermott was predeceased by a daughter, Tracey Steele and two sisters, Brenda Carter and Libby Gardin. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by Chaplin Joey Bodie. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wanda McDermott Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Blue Ridge Hospice for their care of Mrs. McDermott. The family is at the home of her sister, Nancy and Sam Phillips, 181 Hilltop View, Union.
