Wanda S. Mitchell

Wanda S. Mitchell Union, SC Mrs. Wanda Smith Mitchell age 87, of 123 Pineview Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, January10, 2015 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Delrio, TN, April 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Elmer and Leona Leatherwood Smith. She was retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was a member of the Union Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Brock of the home; two sons, Arthur Turner and wife Susan of Woodruff and John Turner and wife Cheryl of Enoree; two brothers, three sisters, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was predeceased by a son, Sam Turner. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Union Church of Christ conducted by Brother Curtis Gilbert. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mitchell's grandsons will serve at the active pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Union Church of Christ, 704 N. Duncan ByPass, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 123 Pineview Rd., Union.
