Mr. Warren Veldee Keisler, age 79, of 102 Culbreath Heights, Union, widower of Nancy Fisher Keisler, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home. Mr. Keisler was born in Union, April 14, 1939, a son of the late John Norman Keisler and Mary Bessie Blakely Keisler. He was retired from the S.C. Dept. of Correction, Tyger River Facility and had received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Keisler also retired after 28 years of service from the US Army having served one tour of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a Mason, an avid Gamecock fan and attended Ottarary Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Beth Comer and husband Donald, Teresa Cook and husband Ronnie and Norma Dee Davis all of Union; five sisters, Claudette Knox, Gladys Vaughn, Tilly Gregory, and Vera Henderson all of Union and Cindy Valencia and husband Bob of Texas; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Keisler was predeceased by two brothers, Jim Keisler and Norman Keisler, Jr., two sisters, Mary Laws and Annabelle Keisler and three great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe and Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial with Military Honors will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Marcus Roland, Dennis Tucker, Don Wilburn, J.W. McAbee, Chris Wages and Charlie Walker. The following are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers, Wayne Baker and Gene Brock. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home, 102 Culbreath Heights, Union.
