Wayne H. Harmon

Mr. Wayne H. Harmon, age 81, of Union, widow of Betty Woolen Harmon, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Greenville Place Nursing Center. Mr. Harmon was born in Union, September 27, 1934, a son of the late Hugh and Ila Carter Harmon. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired as Vice President of Greenville Office Supply. Mr. Harmon was also a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of Unity United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and a musician, having played piano and organ for his church. Mr. Harmon was also instrumental in organizing Relay for Life events. Surviving are a daughter, Betsy H. Leach and husband Wey of Greenville, a granddaughter, Alexandra Fowler also of Greenville; and god-children, Randall "Chump" Hanvey and wife Susan and their daughter, Mary Beth Hanvey all of Union. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. John Cribb. Active pallbearers will be Mike Anthony, Tommy Anthony, Wayne Anthony and Joe Haney. Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life Union County, P.O. Box 1741, Greenwood, SC 29648.
