Wendell Dean Lawson

Mr. Wendell Dean "Windy Bill" Lawson, age 81, husband of Mary Blitchington Lawson of 2383 Jonesville Hwy., Union, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Heartland of Union. Mr. Lawson was born in the West Springs community, October 24, 1939, a son of the late Roy "Shug" Lawson and Louise Lawson Carraway. He was reared in the home of his grandmother, Minnie West Lawson and his aunt Mae Ruth Lawson Hyatt. Mr. Lawson was a graduate of Jonesville High School and had retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing. He was member of Morningside Baptist Church. Mr. Lawson is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Roy D. Lawson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. Aulbrey Calvert. The family understands that his many friends may not be able to attend his funeral service because of all the uncertainty involving the COVID-19 virus. But the family also knows you were there his entire life and when he needed you most. He knew how much you loved him. The family also wishes the say a special "Thank You" to the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice for their care and support.
