Wilford Wayne Lawson

Mr. Wilford Wayne Lawson, age 86, husband of Glenda DeHart Lawson, of 317 Glendale Rd., Union, passed away, Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Lawson was born August 10, 1939, in Union, a son of the late Willie Lawson and Lucille Bates Lawson. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken & Company after 43 years. Mr. Lawson was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a member of the Union Elks Lodge. Mr. Lawson enjoyed golfing, yardwork, and was always on time.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, David Lawson and wife Wendy of Union; Troy Lawson and wife Carmel of Prosperity; eight grandchildren, Jade Fountain and husband Jacob, Brittnee Gregory and husband John, Christin West and husband Dustin, Adam Lawson and wife Alyson, Dustin Lawson and wife Corrine, Elijah Lawson and wife Alexis, Joseph Clements and John Clements; thirteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; a special niece, Joann Cullen and husband Joe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Green and two brothers, Bobby Lawson and Kenneth Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2026, at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Ward and Rev. Tim Dunn. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Agape Hospice, especially Ann and Jamie for their love and care of Mr. Lawson during his illness.
