William Marvin "Bill" Blackwell, Un Sc Jr.

Mr. William Marvin "Bill" Blackwell, Jr. age 74 of 208 Bennett St., Union, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg. Mr. Blackwell was born in Union Co., March 18, 1940, a son of the late William Marvin Blackwell, Sr. and Edith Carter Blackwell. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended Wofford College. After moving to Texas, Mr. Blackwell earned a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of Texas. Mr. Blackwell was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Air Force. Surviving are a brother, Kenneth Blackwell and wife Cindy of the home; a special niece Carolyn Blackwell of the home and numerous cousins. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 4:00 Pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231. The family will be at the home, 208 Bennett St., Union, SC.
