William “Bill” Howell

Mr. William Henry "Bill" Howell, age 85 of 711 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, widower of Rubye Gist Howell, passed away at his home Saturday, March 12, 2016. Mr. Howell was born in Union, SC June 20, 1930, a son of the late Samuel Claude Howell and Avie Vaughan Howell. He was a retired textile worker and a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Howell was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club, a former Trustee and helped with the Sunday Meals. Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Upton and husband Marshall of Jonesville; a son, Gerald Howell and wife Angie of Santuc; a step-son, Floyd "Stump" Heatherly and wife Linda of Jonesville; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Howell was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Franklin and a son, Ricky Howell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glenn Ribelin. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Sprouse, Jeremy Sprouse, Dean Howell, Ken McCraw, Stan Gallman, Mike Scales and Billy Scales. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday in the church prior to the service Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church Parking Lot Fund, 542 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at their respective homes.
