Mr. William Harvey "Bill" McCall, Jr., age 89, of 152 Springdale Drive, Union, widower of Elizabeth (Betsy) Long McCall, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Cheraw Health Care. Mr. McCall was born in Whitmire, SC on February 9, 1927 a son of the late William Harvey McCall, Sr. and Lois Ruth Propes McCall. He attended the University of South Carolina and did further post-secondary studies at other colleges. Mr. McCall was a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He retired from Cone Mill Carlisle Finishing Plant. Mr. McCall loved and admired artwork and enjoyed painting. Following his retirement from Cone Mills, he pursued his lifelong dream of owning an Art and Frame studio. He opened McCalls Frame Shop on Main St., Union, a business he operated as long as his health permitted. Mr. McCall is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are two nieces, Terri Lockey and husband Linton and Melinda Hewett and husband Greg; a number of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty McCall Gregory. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary parlor at Grace United Methodist Church.
