William G. “Bill” Prince

September 19, 2015 Mr. William Gist "Bill" Prince, age 83, of 723 Old Pump Station Rd. Union, widower of Carol Ivey Prince, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Prince was born in Union, October 6, 1931 a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Prince. He was retired from Torrington Co. and was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Prince was a veteran of the US Marine Corp having served during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was an avid farmer and a member of the Cattlemen's Association and other agricultural groups in the county. Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Prince of Union and Vickie Dianne Prince; a son, Will Prince and wife Katie of the home, five grandchildren, Casey Alman, Charleen Alman, Willie Alman, Dakota Prince and Willow Prince; a brother-in-law, Petey Ivey and wife Jerri and their son, Trent Ivey. Mr. Prince was predeceased by a sister and a brother. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Mr. Les Murphy. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Carolina Veteran's Commission, 9789 Charlotte Hwy., Fort Mill, SC 29707. The family will be at their respective homes.
