William W. ‘Billy’ Kirby, Jr.

Mr. William Woodrow "Billy" Kirby, Jr., age 70, husband of Sara C. Kirby of 300 Reese Mill Rd., Pickens, passed away May 1, 2015 at his home. Mr. Kirby was born in Union, February 26, 1945, a son of the late William Woodrow Kirby, Sr. and Lynette May Kirby. He retired from Regional Finance in Union as an assistant manager and was formerly employed with Liberty Life Insurance Co. Mr. Kirby was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church and was first married to the late Mary Ann Hooper Kirby. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Kayla K. Jenkins and husband Zachary of Pickens, two sisters, Lisa Teague and friend Terry of Lexington, NC, and Darlene Cheatam and husband Larry of Union; three brothers, Robert W. Kirby and wife Janice of Union; Jerry Kirby and wife Janice of Nebraska, and Joe Kirby and wife Pat of Sumter; two grandsons, Peyton and Easton Jenkins and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Jamie Duncan. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to East Pickens Baptist Church, 2244 Gentry Memorial Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671. The family will be at the home of his brother, Robert and Janice Kirby, 2304 Whitmire Hwy, Union, SC.
