Mr. William Graves "Bill" Hester, age 85, husband of Peggy W. Hester of Midland, NC, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
Mr. Hester was born in Union, SC, March 17, 1939, a son of the late Richard H. Hester and Elizabeth Perrin Hester. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended Clemson University. Bill began his career as a salesman for Kohler then worked for Charlotte Pipe and Foundry as national sales manager of the Plastics Division. He went on to open his own manufacturer's representative agency called Hester and Messina. More recently, Bill worked in real estate at Associated Real Estate Advisors in Charlotte. He was an original board member of Providence Day School and a board member at A Better World.
Mr. Hester was a member of Carmel Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and was also a Mason, a former member of the SC National Guard and was a Rotarian. He was an avid Clemson football fan and enjoyed flying planes, boating, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley.
Surviving in addition to his wife Peggy, two daughters, Emily Kelaher and husband Kevin of Farmington, CT, and Amy Rothwell and husband Matthew of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsons, James Williams and wife Chasity of New London, NC, and Mark Thompson and wife Crystal of Midland, NC; and a sister, Gloria Anderson of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, Adam, Jamie, Brian, Cecilia, Cameron, Braxton, Blake, Shayna, Brittany and Stacie and great grandchildren, Huxley, Quinley, Emma Rae, William and Reagan. Bill was predeceased by a sister, Etta and two brothers, Dick and Mac.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the loving and caring staff of Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 28, 2024, at Carmel Presbyterian Church conducted by Pastor Peter McKechnie.
