William Hope Holcombe

December 12, 2015 Jonesville, SC Mr. William Hope Holcombe, age 86, husband of Carrie Horne Holcombe of 1703 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Holcombe was born in Union, July 2, 1929, a son of the late Marvin Boyd Holcombe and Mammie Mauk Holcombe. He was retired from Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant and was a member of the Mt. Joy Masonic Lodge # 203. Mr. Holcombe Was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mr.Holcombe was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife are two step-sons, John Horne and Doug Horne both of Union; several nieces and nephews including Gene Vinson of Inman and Marjorie Hall of Spartanburg; and 32 grand, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Holcombe was predeceased by two sisters, Nadean Vinson and Vivian Farr; a brother Harold Holcombe and a step-daughter, Emily Adams. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 14, 2015 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matt Farr, Toney Farr, Willard Farr, Richard Varner, Scott Varner, Timothy Varner and James Varner. Members of the Friendship Sunday School Class are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Monday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at their respective homes.
