William C. Martin

Mr. William Clarence "Dub" Martin, age 77 of 196 Euphra Dr. Gaffney, passed away, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center.  Mr. Martin was the widower of Ellen Woods Martin.

He was born in Union, March 28, 1946, a son of the late Clarence and Lucille Green Martin. Mr. Martin was a retired small engine repairman and had previously work for Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant. He attended Blue Branch Baptist Church in Gaffney.

Surviving are his fiancée, Janet Bryant of the home; a daughter, Tanya Martin and fiancé Andy Blackwood of Gaffney; a son, Timmy Martin of Jonesville; a sister, Dorothy Millwood of Chester; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. Mr. Martin was predeceased by a son, Billy Martin; a sister, Shirley Stamey and two brothers, Junior Martin and Dean Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Pastor Eddie Smith. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Tony Stamey, Joey Stamey, Jr., Joey Stamey, Joseph Edwards, Carl Owens and Jacob Jackson. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Bobby Lemons, Jeff Bryant, Stephen Stewart and Jeff Gault.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Tanya Martin, 222 Fowler Rd., Gaffney, SC.
