April 11, 2017 Mr. Winston Andrew Quinn, age 91, husband of Dorothy Gambrell Quinn, of 902 Arthur Blvd., Union, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Quinn was born in Greenville, SC January 24, 1926 a son of the late Dewey Quinn and Christine Williams Quinn. He was a graduate of Pelzer High School. Mr. Quinn was a 1948 graduate of Clemson University where he earned a degree in Textile Engineering. He was a member of the Clemson University Baseball team, the Block C Club and an IPTAY member for 62 years. Mr. Quinn was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp having served in World War II. He was retired from the Union County School System and had previously worked at Reeves Bros, Burlington Industries, and United Merchants. Mr. Quinn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 48 years and was also a Mason. Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are three daughters, Fran Love and husband Bob, Kathy Bailey and husband Michael, and Chris Smith and husband Barry; six grandchildren, Andy Love, Jeff Love, Katie Crews, Drew Smith, Jennifer Robbins, and Rhett Smith; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight and Rev. Mike Scales. The Clyburn-Whitener Sunday School Class is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S. Church St., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 902 Arthur Blvd., Union, SC 29379.
