Addie Mae Lawson

            Mrs. Addie Mae Smith Lawson, age 89, of 2320 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, widow of Lloyd Lawson, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

            Mrs. Lawson was born in Union Co., October 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Browning and Lillie Smith. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who had previously worked at Enoree Mill and Her Majesty. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where she was currently the oldest member. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            Surviving are a daughter, Kaye Lawson; three sons, Stanley Lawson, Earl Lawson and wife Wanda and Jerry Lawson and wife Patty all of Buffalo. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by two daughters, Betty Sue Lawson and Sandra Denise Lawson; a son, Terry Mark Lawson and a great-grandchild.

            The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Cresent Hospice for their care of Mrs. Lawson during her illness.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jimmy Farmer and Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as the active pallbearers.

            Mrs. Lawson will be carried to her home, 2320 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, Thursday, where the family will receive friends after 1:00 PM. She will be placed in the church Friday at 2:00 PM to await the services.
