There is another sweet soul in Heaven, Mr. Albert Bird McNeace age 90, husband of Betty Arthur McNeace of 1669 Monarch Highway, Union, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at his home.
Mr. McNeace was born in Union, July 28, 1931, a son of the late Willie Clyde “Punch” McNeace and Bernice Greer McNeace. He was retired from Milliken & Company as a Development Engineer, where he spent his entire career. Mr. McNeace was also retired from the SC National Guard. He was a graduate of Union High School. Mr. McNeace was a devout member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over 70 years, where he held various positions, including being a member of Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Men’s Club. Mr. McNeace was a member of the American Legion, Woodmen of the World and the Senior Citizens of Union.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 70 years, are a daughter, Judi McNeace Lloyd of Columbia; three sons, Albert B. “Mac” McNeace, Jr. and wife Karen of Taylors, Tim McNeace and wife Patti of Union and Jeff McNeace of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Cenna Lloyd Druce and husband Tobin, Sara Lloyd, Heather Pruitt and husband Shane, Katey Hiott and husband Tyler, Leslie Cagle and husband Carroll, Michael Dylan McNeace and Marissa McNeace; four great grandchildren, Lily Hiott, Ellie Hiott , Carson Cagle and Rivers Pruitt; numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Mike Gwinn. He was predeceased by two brothers LG McNeace and Switzer McNeace and a sister Willie Poole.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Bethel Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Andy Arthur, Earl Coleman, Don Martin, Earl Hendrix, Howard Whitehead, and Robert Edwards.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Friday evening October 8, 2021, at Bethel Methodist Church.
