Mrs. Anita Wilson Hicks, age 71, passed away on the evening of January 12, 2024 at Woodruff Manor. Anita was born in Union, August 20, 1952 a daughter of the late Marvin Allen Wilson and Arline Tidwell Wilson.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Fleming and husband Rodney of Whispering Pines, NC and Joy Turner and husband Michael of Moore; her grandchildren, Ryan, Christen, Blake, Addyline and Elias; and a brother, Gene Wilson and wife Beth of Spartanburg.
Anita is joyfully reunited in Heaven with her husband of 52 years, Robert “Bobby” Hicks, her parents, and her brother Steve “Chigger” Wilson and her sister, Sondra Dorsey.
She began working at Arthur State Bank while still in high school and continued to serve the people she cared for in Union County for over forty-five years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she loved using her angelic voice to sing in the choir. She was most recently a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist where she loved listening to the message with Bobby and getting to know her new friends in Christ.
Along with spending time with her five grandchildren and growing her beautiful roses, Anita’s favorite thing to do was listen to and sing praises to her Lord. It brings peace to the family knowing she is doing just that now for eternity and is whole again.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to those who cared for her in her last months at Woodruff Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 12:00 noon Saturday at the church prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Turner, Blake Turner, Rodney Fleming and Ryan Fleming.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 123 W. Antrim Dr., Greenville, SC 29607.
