Betty C. Blanton

           Mrs. Betty Clippard Blanton, age 92, widow of Kelly Blanton, formerly of Union, passed away Monday June 6, 2022 at Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff.

            Mrs. Blanton was born in Spartanburg, November 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Walter and Ina Burchette Clippard. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and was formerly a secretary at Carlisle Finishing. She also worked as manager of Ellis Clothes of Distinction in Spartanburg and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mrs. Blanton also loved playing Backgammon and card games, especially, Bridge. She also enjoyed the occasional practical joke.

            Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Keasler and husband Tony of Union and Brenda League of Greenville; and a son, Kirk Smith of Gadsden AL. She is also survived by granddaughters, Cassandra Hall, Natasha Earls and husband Jon, Kristine Smith, and Kelly League; and a grandson Ryan Keasler and wife Aurora. Mrs. Blanton is survived by great-granddaughters Stephanie Keasler, Alyssa Keasler, and Bailey Earls; great-grandsons Gabriel Keasler, Reese Hall, Joshua Keasler and wife Stephanie and Dillon Earls. She is survived by a brother Reginald Clippard and wife Linda. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanton was predeceased by a daughter Karen Smith, a granddaughter Andrea Smith and a sister Mary Parham.

             Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel at 4:00 PM officiated by Rev. Brad Goodale. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the chapel prior to the services.

            The family is at the home of daughter Kathy and Tony Keasler, 1113 Old Ferry Road, Union, SC.
