Mrs. Betty Roberts Burns, age 91, widow of Joe H. Burns, formerly of Lockhart, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.
Mrs. Burns was born in Lockhart, August 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Brownlow Roberts and Ollie Lee Foster Roberts. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired from Milliken and Co., Lockhart Mill. She was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
Surviving is a son, Randall Burns and wife Deanna of Lockhart; two granddaughters, Ollie Burns of Hanes City, FL, and Tracy Vanderford of Spartanburg; a great-granddaughter, Sydnie V. Byers and husband Ryan and two great-great-granddaughters, Emma-Grace Byers and Rylynn Byers; a brother, Harold Roberts and wife Nan of Rock Hill; a sister-in-law Melissa Roberts of Hendersonville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burns was predeceased by a son, Nickey Cudd and three brothers, Charles, Johnny. and Eddie Roberts.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 18, 2021, at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Sam Baine and Rev. Merritt Wentz. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.
