Ms. Betty Lou Haney Crawford, age 83, of 629 Rice Ave. Ext., Union, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home.
Ms. Crawford was born in Buffalo, SC, January 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Arthur Lee Haney and Myrtle King Cole. She was famously known as “Nannie Betty”, who loved each one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dedicated her entire life to her family. Ms. Crawford was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Debra C. Strickland and husband Phil of Prosperity, Cheryl C. Scarborough and husband Timmy of Spartanburg and Mary C. Harris of Union; a son, Freddie Crawford and wife Angela of Union; eight grandchildren, Cayse Jeter and husband Coleman, Tabitha Taneyhill and husband Steve, Kelly Crawford and friend Scarlett, Kyle O’Shields and wife Amber, Katie Crawford and friend Ryan, Andy Strickland and wife Ashley, Tommy Strickland and wife Colby and Kelsey Simpson and husband Josh; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jacob Crawford, Gracie Crawford, Emma Knox, Kalli O’Shields, Jordy O’Shields, Jack Talley, Grey Talley, Colby Jeter, Caleb Jeter, Rhett Crawford, Reece Strickland, Kai Simpson and Korie Simpson; two special friends, Jimmy Humphries and Page Robinson; a sister-in-law, Peggy Haney and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. Crawford was predeceased by a son-in-law, Joey Harris, three brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Brian Redding and Rev. Johnny Burgess.
Active pallbearers will be Kelly Crawford, Kyle O’Shields, Andy Strickland, Tommy Strickland, Coleman Jeter, Ryan Hembree, Josh Simpson, Steve Taneyhill and Jacob Crawford.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
