Billie McBride Obituary
Mrs. Billie Laval McBride, age 78, of 425 Pacolet St., Jonesville, widow of Francis “Friday” McBride, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Mrs. McBride was born in Union Co., May 3, 1943, a daughter of the late William “Buddy” Laval, Jr. and Corinne Cunningham Laval. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church. Mrs. McBride retired after a successful career in sales with Hood Packaging. While working at Hood Packaging she had the opportunity to travel many places across the U.S. and Canada. She also met two very dear friends at work with whom she kept in touch with daily, Mary Ruth Dunker and Sandra Cox. Mrs. McBride was a loving and caring woman who adored her family and always told them how important they were to her. She was delighted to become a great Aunt in 2014 (Caroline Laval) and again in 2017 (Julia Laval).
Surviving are a niece, Jennifer Lloyd and husband Kirk; a nephew, Tripp Laval and wife Jessica and a sister-in-law, Joyce S. Laval all of Columbia. She was predeceased by a brother, William “Brother” Laval, III.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Steve King.
Visitation will be held immediately following the services at the home of Linda Taylor, 625 Hames Ave., Jonesville, SC 29353.
The family would like to thank her loyal and loving sitters, Shannon Case, Lisa Poley and Joyce Dawkins as well as her friends Scarlett Jolley and Linda Taylor for all of their love and support over the past two months.
Mrs. McBride was an avid dog lover. Lobo, Maggie, Prince and Daisy were some of her loyal companions over the years. The family is asking that memorials be made to the Union County Animal Shelter, 1647 Jonesville Highway, Union, SC 29379 or to Jonesville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353.
