Billy Scott, Jr.

            Mr. Billy Scott, Jr., age 88, widower of Barbara Gault Scott of 316 Victory Lane, Union went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

            Mr. Scott was born in Union, August 9, 1935, a son of the late Willie K. Scott, Sr. and Bessie Crawford Scott. He was the retired owner and operator of Union Siding and also retired from Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant. Billy was a well-known stock car driver in the Southeast for over 43 years and earned numerous accolades during his racing career. He was a faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church. He loved his Lord, his family, and his racing family.

            Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Farr Rash and husband Mack; two sons, Mike Scott and Roxanne Scarbrough, and Billy Wayne Scott and wife Susan all of Union. He is survived by five grandchildren, Jeff Farr, David Scott, Kayla Stanley, Jerrad Scott and Cory Scott and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandsons, Will Scott and Scott Farr.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

            Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:30 until 3:00PM at the church prior to the services.

            Active pallbearers will be Jeff Farr, David Scott, Cory Scott, Danny Farr, Jaylen Farr, and Montie Bradburn.

            The family will be at the home of his daughter, Debbie and Mack Rash, 306 Victory Lane, Union.
