Bobbie Rhymer Obituary

            Mrs. Bobbie Jean Lamb Rhymer, age 92, widow of William “Bill” Rhymer, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Bluffton.

            Mrs. Rhymer was born in Union Co., June 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Robert Hix Lamb and Ophelia Scott Lamb. She was a graduate of Union High School and had worked mostly in business administration during her career. She was a member of Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, GA where she had previously lived and was raised in Bethel United Methodist Church in Union. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and singing in the church choir.

            Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne R. Holder and husband David of Bluffton, and Katrina Barnes of Conyers, GA; three sons, James Robert Gaden and wife Peggy of Senoia, GA, William Rhymer, Jr. and wife Judy of Conyers, GA and Stanley Rhymer and wife Robin of Monroe, GA; eight grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Savannah Holder, Hayden Holder, Joanna Spires, Brian Bailey, Sunny Nasworthy, Blake Rhymer and Adams Rhymer. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, Charles Gaden and a granddaughter, Kris Fowler.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

            Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the chapel prior to the services.

            Memorials may be made to the Union Co. Meals on Wheels, PO Box 951, Union, SC 29379.
