Charles Wayne Martin

Mr. Charles Wayne Martin, age 68, husband of Ruth Inez Martin of 1470 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, passed away, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Martin was born November 1, 1951 in Union, a son of the late Jr. Martin and June Martin.  He retired from the Maintenance Department at Webb Forging. Mr. Martin attended Lakeside Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ethan Martin of the home; three daughters, Nicki Gault, Charlene Gibson, and Amy Lindler all of Union; a step-son, Jacob McDade of Charleston; six grandchildren, Katie Robertson, Bayleigh Robertson, William O’Shields, Caitlynn O’Shields, and Tyler Ellis; and two great-grandchildren, Mia and Raelynn Hutchinson.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Clint Martin and a grandson, Malcolm O’Shields.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Lakeside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cobb.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Newton, Stevie Pettit, Billy Ramsey, and Jeremy Cool.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday prior to the services at the Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their love and care of Mr. Martin during his illness.
