Mr. Charlie M. “Charles” Deputy, Jr., age 71, husband of Marichu Deputy of 401 Sardis Rd., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after months of declining health.
Mr. Deputy was born in Union, October 7, 1951, a son of the late Charlie M. Deputy, Sr. and Pearl Marie Queen Deputy Busbee. He was a graduate of Union High School and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Deputy was a retired truck driver, and previous owner and operator of People’s Choice Video Rental, Marie’s County Cooking, and People’s Choice Pawn. He was formerly employed with Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are three daughters, April Nichols and husband Bobby of Spartanburg, Arielle Deputy and Catie Deputy of the home; a son, Charlie Deputy, III of the home; three sisters, Rose Deputy of Union, Cathy Tessnier and husband Danny of Pacolet, and Jean Cornelison and husband Roy of Union. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Bobby Ray Nichols, III and Allison Nichols of Spartanburg and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Tammy Busbee and step-father, J.C. Busbee.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe and R.J. Sanders. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the chapel prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Tessnier, Jr., Kevin Tessnier, Trey Cornelison, Robert Sanders, K.J. Tessnier and Jason Sanders.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the many friends and family members for their love and support shown to Mr. Deputy during his declining health. Especially to the staff and nurses of ProMedica, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center CCU, and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their compassionate care during his illness.
The family will be at the home, 401 Sardis Rd., Union.
