Christine Harvey Lawson

Mrs. Christine Harvey Lawson, age 97, of 504 Bishop Rd., Union, widow of Jack Lawson, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 4, 2020. 

Mrs. Lawson was born, March 13, 1923 in Joanna, a daughter of the late William Owens and Ida Weathers Owens.  She was first married to the late Dupree Harvey.  Mrs. Lawson was a graduate of Union High School.  She retired from Conso Products and had formerly worked at Buffalo Mill.  Mrs. Lawson was an active member of West Springs Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. 

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Smith and husband Ben of the home; a son, Ken Harvey and wife Jean of Gaffney; a sister, Betty Joint of Charleston; four grandchildren, Darla Robinson and husband Dean of Union, Johnny Vaughan and wife Tammy of Jonesville; Russ Harvey and wife Kristi of Gaffney, and Justin Harvey and wife Shanna of Gaffney; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Cooper and Louise Hatchell and two brothers, Buford Owens and Leroy Owens.

Graveside services will be held 3:00PM Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Cunningham.

Visitation will be held immediately following the services at the cemetery.
