David Andrew Pettit, Jr.

           Mr. David Andrew Pettit, Jr. age 83, of 109 Camp Drew Rd, Union, SC husband of Avanelle Eaves Pettit, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at his home.

            Mr. Pettit was born in Tryon, NC July 29, l939, a son of the late David Andrew Pettit, Sr. and Mary Plexico Pettit. He was a graduate of Union High School and a member of Welcome Baptist Church where he formerly served as a deacon. Mr. Pettit retired after working in the textile plants he also worked at Kohler casting.

            Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-eight years is three sons, Andy Pettit and wife Tami of Pacolet, Timothy Pettit and wife Angie of Spartanburg, and Rev. Tony Pettit and wife Darlene of Union; a daughter Crystal Rawdon of York; two sisters, Annette Johnson and Jean Sailors both of Union; a brother, James Woodrow Pettit of Union; nine grandchildren, Amber Pittman, Marissa Pettit, Justin Pettit, Morgan Pettit, Jacob Pettit, Eli Rawdon, Maren Pettit, Kaylee Pettit, and Katelyn Rawdon. Mr. Pettit was predeceased by a daughter, Rhonda Littlejohn and a sister, Dorothy Rosborough.

            Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Tony Pettit. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

            The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday night at the church.

            Active Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Eli Rawdon, Jacob Pettit, Justin Pettit and also, Curtis Plexico, Chris Rosborough and Jonathan Rosborough.

            Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Nichols Ave., Union, SC 29379.
