Dennis R. Kirby

            Mr. Dennis R. Kirby, age 63, husband of Jo Ann Jones Kirby of 2530 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

            Mr. Kirby was born in Union, November 28 , 1959, a son of Thelma Kirby Crawford of Jonesville and the late OD Crawford. He was employed with Milliken and Co., Cedar Hill Plant and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mr. Kirby was a member of the Mt. Joy Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.

            Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his step-father, Gary Fox of Jonesville; two daughters, Lacy Shropshire and husband Lee of Union, and Tansy Ham and husband Shannon of Lancaster; one grandson, Gavin Ham;  three sisters, Amy Henderson and husband Chad of Spartanburg, Tiffanie Fox of Cowpens and Cathy Sain of Enoree; two brothers, Ronald Fowler of Jonesville and Randy Crawford of Alabama, and a special friend, Gene Maness of Spartanburg. Mr. Kirby was predeceased by a sister, Rita Smith.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial will be at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

            Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

            Active pallbearers will be Bryan Shaver, Lee Shropshire, Gavin Ham, Mike Kirby, Bobby Ray Kirby, Jr., and Todd Turner.

            Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379.

            The family will be at the home, 2530 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union.
