Donna L. Sweezy

            Ms. Donna Littlejohn Sweezy, age 66, of 310 W. Hillcrest Ave., Union, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

            Ms. Sweezy was born in Union, April 22, 1955, a daughter of Patsy Allen Littlejohn and the late Donald G. Littlejohn. She was a graduate of Union High School and received a Master’s degree in Education from Winthrop College. She was a life-long educator in the Union Co. School District, beginning her career in 1978. Even though she was officially retired, she never stopped teaching. There was not a soul she met, who was not impacted by her love and infectious personality. As it was said about Donna, she was a “testament to the good in the world”.  If you knew her, you loved her, and she loved you. Donna also loved her house at Lake Murray, going fishing, being a D.J., and collecting “Betty Boop”.

            Surviving in addition to her mother is a son, Jason R. Sweezy, two grandson, Cade and Jacob Sweezy all of Union, a sister, Beverly L. Smith and husband Smitty of Jonesville, a nephew, Taylor Smith of Wilmington, NC, two special “soul sisters” Sue Haney and Deb Robertson and numerous extended family members. Donna was predeceased by a brother, Wendell Littlejohn.

            A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Jesse Pendergrass and Rev. Walter Holcombe.

            Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 5:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service.

            Memorials may be made to Ottaray Baptist Church, Sound System Fund, P.O. Box 70, Union, SC 29379.

            The family will be at the home, 310 W. Hillcrest Ave., Union.
