Obituary

            Mrs. Doris Carter Hunter, age 94, widow of Weldon Hunter, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 27, 2023 at NHC Clinton.

            Mrs. Hunter was born January 22, 1929 in Union, a daughter of the late William Carter and Eva Sanders Carter.  She was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church.  Mrs. Hunter was first married to the late James Davis Haile.

            Surviving are two daughters, Judy Haile Parker and Anastasia Hunter Shaw both of Columbia; a sister, Carol Patrick Austin of Union; two step-daughters, Marilyn Roddey and Debbie Plyler; seven grandchildren, Heather Marlowe and husband Billy, Brett Davis Ray who is predeceased, Drew Parker, Colin Shaw, Rusty Roddey, Kim Roddey who is predeceased and Michael Mills; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces, Sandra Patrick Moss and Van Patrick Gregory and a nephew, Chris Patrick and their families.

             A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
