Mr. Floyd Davis Sinclair, age 72, husband of Joyce Owensby Sinclair of 648 Brown’s Creek Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Sinclair was born in Union, November 14, 1947, a son of the late Murl and Mary Trammell Sinclair. He was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil’s Business College. Mr. Sinclair retired after 29 years at Torrington Co., Tyger River Plant. He was a devoted member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Waterloo where he had served on various committees within the church. Mr. Sinclair was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam era.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, David Shane Sinclair of the home, Russell Sinclair of Union and Randall Sinclair and wife Cindy of Lake Greenwood; a sister, Nadie Gault and husband Keith; two brothers, Larry Sinclair and wife Elaine and Olin Sinclair all of Union; three grandchildren, Caroline Sinclair, Dalton Sinclair and Ross Sinclair and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Sinclair was predeceased by a sister, Loree Henderson.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Steven Owensby, Rev. John G. Smith and Rev. Alan Gregory. Burial with Military Honors will be at Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday at the chapel prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Eaves, Maxie Murphy, Jack Burnett, Curtis Plexico, Robert Palmer and Ricky Wix.
The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Robert Stepp, Harold Dean Carter and Steve Davis.
