Francis "Bunk" Crocker

           Mr. Francis “Bunk” Crocker, age 86, husband of Carolyn Boughman Crocker of 140 Santuc Dr., Union, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

            Mr. Crocker was born in Union, June 19, 1936, a son of the late Russell and Fulton Eller Crocker. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Cone Mills, Carlisle Finishing. Mr. Crocker was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and served on various church committees. He was a founding member of the Santuc Fire Department, a member of the Santuc Wood Carving Club, and a member of the Neighbor Helping Neighbor group. Mr. Crocker was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge #75. He was an avid outdoorsman and was considered as the Santuc community handyman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

            Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Tami C. Pettit and husband Andy of Pacolet; a son, Russell Crocker and wife Jill of Union; three grandchildren, Marissa Pettit, Justin Pettit, and Chance Gregory and wife Allison; two great-grandchildren, Benji and Baxter Gregory and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Crocker was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Lou Palmer, Eula Mae Kennett, and Elnora Crocker, and five brothers, Charlie, Aubrey, Sam, Arthur, and Russell Crocker, Jr.

            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Rd., Union, conducted by Rev. Jim Wiseman. Burial with Masonic Rites and Fireman Honors will follow in the church cemetery.

            Active pallbearers will be Freddie Kingsmore, Mark Kingsmore, Jeff Kost, Brady Fuller, Tony Rector, and Jerry Boughman. Members of Santuc Woodcarving and Neighbor Helping Neighbor are asked to sit in a group.

            Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:45PM Sunday at the church prior to the services.
