Geraldine Bishop Adams

            Mrs. Geraldine Bishop Adams, age 88, widow of Richard Thomas “Rock” Adams of Pauline, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

            Mrs. Adams was born in Union, December 26, 1933, a daughter of the late John Norman Bishop and Nellie Mitchell Bishop. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil’s Business College. Mrs. Adams was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker who started her career in Union with Milliken and Co. She went on to become an entrepreneur in many areas. Most recently, she was co-founder of Daisy Cakes with her daughter.  She enjoyed traveling and recently drove cross county with her granddaughter, dipping her toes in the Pacific Ocean. In April of 2022, she spent a week with family in Costa Rica watching the sun set on the Pacific.

            Mrs. Adams is survived by a daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Adams Nelson and husband John of Spartanburg; a sister, Bobbie Ruth Rush of Pinehurst, NC; a sister-in-law, Mary Adams Inglett of Union; three grandchildren, John Adam Nelson and wife Allie, Shelby Victoria Nelson and Samuel Thomas Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Adams was predeceased by a dear aunt, Daisy Bishop and special cousin, Marion Bishop.

            The family would like to say a special Thank You to her caregiver, Mary Rawls and friend, Cheryl Cooke.

            Celebration of life service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the chapel prior to the service.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, 419 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
