Harvey Levi Belue

Mr. Harvey Levi Belue, age 95, husband of Bobbie Jean Brown Belue, of 2369 Jonesville Hwy., Union, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Belue was born August 22, 1927 in Greenville, a son of the late L. Orin Belue and Bertie Barrow Belue.  He was a 1944 graduate of Union High School and attended Clemson University.  Mr. Belue had been a resident of the Bonham Community since 1932.  He retired after 46 ½ years from Southern Bell.  Mr. Belue was a self taught TV repairman, he also was an electronics repairman, having learned from Grantham School of Electronics and Cleveland Institute of Electronics.  He was a Veteran of the United States Marines having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Belue was a member of New Life Baptist Church, where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher until 2022.  He was a former R.A. Leader and Deacon at Fairforest Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 74 ½ years are two sons, Lowell Belue and wife Laura of Fair Play and Jerry Belue and wife Donna of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Leslie Belue Norman and husband Micah, Christopher Belue, and Joshua Belue; three great-grandchildren, Adelaide Norman, Jude Norman, and Julia Norman; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Belue and Henry Belue.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by Spartanburg Restorative Care and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Care during Harvey’s illness. The family also appreciates the prayerful support of New Life Baptist Church, Union, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2023 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner, Rev. Todd Davis, and Rev. Scott Cobb.

Active pallbearers will be, Barry Brown, Larry Brown, Michah Norman, Mark Berry, Christopher Belue, Joshua Belue, Mark Belue and Michael Brown.  Honorary Pallbearers will be, Micah Norman, Roy Puckett, Dean Brown, Allen Brown, Larry Lancaster, Perry Barber, Cindy Ivey, Steve and Judith Crumley, Mary Peake, Dean and Laura Tollison, Jeanette Pharr, Pearl Crocker, Pam Puckett, Sid Ballard, Janet Jennings, Judy Lovelace, Linda Davis, Mike Benson, Robbie Vinson, Frank Baldwin, Gibby Arthur, Jude Norman, Tammie Lovelace, Kent Smith, Allen Brown and former employees of Southern Bell.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.
