Mr. Jack J. Moore, Sr., age 91, loving husband of Edna Latty Moore, of 3321 Whitmire Hwy., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 2, 2023.
Mr. Moore was born in Rutherfordton, NC., a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Annie Bright Moore. He was a graduate of Union High School and Highway Institute of Technology with the Railroad. Mr. Moore was employed with Southern Railroad and later the Union Oil Company. He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Covenant Baptist Church and a true patriot, having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Moore loved working outside, gardening, taking care of his farm and tractor and all his animals. His life was a true testimony, and his biggest argument was, “I LOVE you MOORE”! He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of sixty-eight years, are four daughters, Barbara Mathis (Ronald) of Pacolet, Betty Jean Futch (Brian) of Buffalo, Patricia Lynn Frey (Lynn) and Carol L Engel (Mike) all of Lakeland, FL.; one son, Jack J Moore Jr. (Betty Jean) of Salem, New Jersey; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Covenant Baptist church conducted be the Pastor Larry Padgett and Rev. Wayne Cook. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ronald Mathis, Brian Futch, Lynn Frey, Mike Engel, Eddie Estep and Daniel Chapman.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.

The family will be at his home, 3321 Whitmire Hwy., Union, SC.
