Mr. James Wesley “Jabo” Brown, Jr., age 66 husband of Kanice Vance “Kandy” Brown of 624 Gilmore Rd., Union, passed away September 12, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Brown was born in Union, January 9, 1955, a son of the late James Wesley Brown, Sr. and Sarah Gregory Brown. He was retired farmer and logger and a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church. Mr. Brown was a volunteer fireman with the Santuc Fire Department where he also served as mechanic.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Kelsey Sanders and husband Codey of Buffalo; a son, Donnie Brown and wife Terri of Hobbs, NM; three sisters, Hazel Adams and husband Dudley of Union, Alleen Gossette and husband Billy of Jonesville, and Rosa Jackson of Tryon, NC; two grandchildren, Deira and Jirha; his fur babies, Lucy and big Kitty and grand-dogs, Phoenix and Roscoe. Mr. Brown was predeceased by a brother, Donnie Brown and Brenda Cool.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will be at Hebron Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky E. Smith, Russ Sanders, Hubert Sims, Jim Burnett, Joe McDonald, Jackie Gaston, Robbie Adams and Jeff Allan.
The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort David Yarborough, Hugh Sanders, William Prince and the logging crew of Smith Backhoe and Construction, the logging crew of Jackie Gaston Logging, doctors and nurses of Gibbs Cancer Center and Regional Hospice caretakers. The family would like to say a special Thank You to a special nurse, Dana for her love and support during Mr. Brown’s illness.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kelsey and Codey Sanders, 2235 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo.
