James Vernon Ivey, Jr.

Mr. James Vernon Ivey, Jr. age 67, husband of Pamela Addis Ivey, of Port Orange, FL, passed away at his home in Jonesville, Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Mr. Ivey was born June 11, 1952 in Union, a son of the late James Vernon Ivey, Sr. and Pearl Manus Ivey.  He was retired from Florida Power and Light where he served as a manager at the nuclear power station.  Mr. Ivey was a Mason, Shriner, a member of the Scottish Rites and Elks Club. He loved to sing and play the guitar for his family and friends and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Shana Eaves and husband Eric of Jonesville; two sons, Shane Garner and James Vernon Ivey, IV of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Paula Ivey Garner of Jonesville; two brothers, Terry Ivey and wife Betty Sue of Union; Tony “Bird” Ivey and wife Christy of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Brittnee Ivey Shouse and husband Corey, Gage Eaves, Zeek Eaves, and Betty Ivey; two great-grandchildren; and special friends Nanci and Johnny West of Port Orange, FL.  He was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Ivey Hughes, a brother, Maxwell Ivey, a grandson, Jase Eaves, and a brother-in-law, Mark Garner.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
