James Pridemore Obituary

            Mr. James Earl Pridemore, age 85, husband of Betty Joyce Harris Pridemore, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Union Medical Center.

            Mr. Pridemore was born in Whitmire, February 19, 1939, a son of the late Ezra and Margaret Osborne Pridemore. He was a graduate of Union High School and was retired after 32 years with Spartanburg Steel. He was a member of Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Music Director. 

            Surviving in addition to his wife Betty of 66 years, are two daughters, Tammy Jones of Pauline and Sherry Brown and husband Jerry of Union; a son, Ricky Pridemore and wife Tammy of Union; two sisters, Alma Faucett of Union and Essie Fecter of Florida, and a brother, William J. “Bill” Pridemore and wife Irena of Greer. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brian “B.J.” Brown, Brandy Waddell, Matthew Jones, Faye Jones, Megan Pridemore and Claire Pridemore; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Waddell, Katlyn Waddell, Caley Brown, and Emma Brown, and a great-granddaughter, Aidley. He was predeceased by four sisters, Bonnie Tippey, Mildred Williamson, Rosa Lee Clowney, and Shirley Sturkie, and three brothers, Carson Pridemore, Carl Pridemore and Robert Pridemore.

            Funeral services will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Charles Hutcheson. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

            Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday at the chapel prior to the services.

            Active pallbearers will be Tony Harris, Buddy Harris, Wayne Harris, Brian Brown, Jason Belue, and Jimmy Duncan.

            The family will be at the home of Ricky and Tammy Pridemore, 912 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union.
