James Robert Tesner, age 76, beloved husband, father and papa, passed away peacefully after a short illness, September 19, 2020. He was born August 1, 1944 to Sammy Tesner, Sarah and Bud Gault and a bonus mother, Vera Boulware. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Louise Brewington Tesner, and they were blessed with a son, Jimmy Tesner and a daughter Lisa Tesner Logan.
James was known to all his family and friends simply as “Bubba”. He had the natural ability of accomplishing any task set before him, to quote his children “he was the wisest man they knew”. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed it so much, he played daily. When James wasn’t enjoying a game of golf, he and Louise could be found at an Auction. Those who knew James, knew he was always seeking to find a treasure starting his bid with $2.50 to $5.00.
His greatest accomplishments include his wife of 54 years Louise, and his family; Jimmy, Nicole, Hayden, and Ryley Tesner, Bo, Angela, Alyssa, Mason, Cali, and Sawyer Tesner, Ricky, Charli, and Ember Tesner, Lisa and Johnny Logan, Danielle and Blaine Moore, Amanda Cogdill.
James was also blessed with numerus siblings that include Ann and Jim McKuen, Darlene and Steve Calendar, Jane Ray, Genelle Brock, Edward and Doris Gault, and Lewis Tesner. He was predeceased by brothers, James Ray Tesner and Buddy Tesner, and sisters, Shirley Goins, Callie Foster, Judy Gagnon, Bernice Medford and Francis Tesner.
The family will receive friends at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home, 310 West South Street, Union, SC on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 6pm until 8pm. His funeral will be held at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 2pm with burial to follow at West Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Johnny Logan, Allen Silvers, Don Allen, Blaine Moore, Jack Burnett, and Jeff Cogdill. The family ask all his golfing buddies to sit in a group as honorary pallbearers.
James had no idea the impact he had on others. His cleverness and witty humor will always be remembered. “Lou, I’m finally home”
