Mr. John L. Bullard, age 72, husband of Peggy Sinclair Bullard of 224 Leaman Ave., Whitmire, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Bullard was born in Newberry Co., August 11, 1948, a son of the late John William Bullard and Nettie Huff Bullard. He was a retired carpenter with McDonald Enterprises in Columbia and was former owner and operator of Century Builders. Mr. Bullard was a Bloodhound handler with SCLED from 1978 until 1983.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years, Peggy, are a daughter, Melinda B. Gambrell; a son John J. Bullard; two brothers, Bobby Bullard, and wife Linda and Grallin Bullard and wife Susan; two sisters, Susie Thomas and Angie Gilliam and husband Randy; and a brother-in-law, Victor Sinclair. Mr. Bullard was also survived by two grandchildren, Garrett Gambrell and Cheyenne Gambrell and fiancé McKennse McWaters; one great-grandchild, Levi McWaters; a special friend, Lee McKee; a number of nieces and nephews and three beloved pets, Rocky, Lulu and Butterball. He was predeceased by a grandson, Wes Gambrell; two sisters, Debra E. Reed and Annette Bullard and a brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas.
The family wishes to express a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice, Chaplain Brian Redding, Lisa Knight, Sissy Copeland, Nereyda Valencia, Tamara Riley of Whitmire Medical and the staff and nurses of Newberry Memorial Hospital for their care and support shown to Mr. Bullard and his family.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the home of his sister, Susie Thomas, 9180 Jalapa Rd., Whitmire, Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 2:00 until 7:00 PM.
